Gitlab FAQ (EN)
I am trying to add a colleague to a group (or project), but I cannot find them in the menu. Do they have an account?
User accounts are automatically created only for people whose core unit is the Faculty of Information Technology. If they come from another part of CTU, they must first log in to GitLab. Based on this login, an account will be automatically created.
You can also invite a colleague to a group or project via email. If the invitation is sent to the email address the colleague has listed as preferred in the Usermap system, the invitation will automatically be linked to the newly created account after the first login.
If you cannot add a colleague even after the initial login, contact the ICT department's helpdesk.
What is a namespace?
A namespace is a unique name composed of a group, subgroup, or username.
For example, a project named
flynnkev
atgitlab.fit.cvut.cz/BI-PPA/B201/flynnkev
is located in theBI-PPA/B201
namespace (in theBI-PPA
group and subgroupB201
). By default, a user creates a new project in their personal namespace (its name is the user's username).For more information, see the official documentation.
You can find more information about the faculty GitLab on the HelpFIT website.
